New Pioneers ushered in this new year with exciting news: We’re thrilled to welcome four new faces to our Board of Directors! Michael Bickett, Deana Cissell, Will Rosenbaum, and Jenna Wilson offer a diverse range of backgrounds and passions to continue fueling the growth of our board and organization.
As our Board of Directors continues to work tirelessly to center and grow the work of New Pioneers, we are thrilled to welcome the new energy and excitement of these board members to our ranks:
Michael Bickett: Michael is a retired educator/school administrator who served in both catholic and public schools in our local area and Louisville. He was the assistant principal of Marion County High School and the principal of St. Joseph School in Bardstown. Michael is married to Rosie, they have three adult children, and several grandchildren. Michael and Rosie were raised in Loretto, They have been residents of Bardstown for over 15 years. Currently Michael serves as a school board member for Bethlehem High School, is a member of the Nelson County Democratic Party Executive Committee, and cantors at his church, St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral in Bardstown.
Deana Cissell: Deana lives in Loretto, KY with her husband and daughter on a dairy cattle farm. She serves as a Bourbon Production Expert at Diageo Distillery in Lebanon, where she is also participating in the Leadership Lebanon program. Deana is passionate about sustainability and nature, and looks forward to supporting the work of New Pioneers in the years to come.
Will Rosenbaum: Will lives in Bardstown, KY, where he works as the Campus Service Director for the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth. Will is an avid outdoorsman and naturalist and enjoys spending time at Bernheim, where he volunteers as a Volunteer Naturalist. Will looks forward to supporting New Pioneers and getting to know our community!
Jenna Wilson: Jenna grew up in Southern California and developed a passion for supporting sustainable community practices early in her youth by encouraging farm-to-table shopping habits, community composting, and conservation organizations. She is honored and delighted to be able to volunteer in a formal capacity with New Pioneers and support their growing mission to secure a green future for all.
