New Pioneers for a Sustainable Future has been a leading voice of environmental sustainability throughout Nelson, Marion, and Washington Counties for over 20 years. This year, New Pioneers took a fresh look at how our mission drives our impact.
New Pioneers' mission statement has long been "to promote sustainability in rural communities to ensure a healthy future for all". This mission gets to the core of our work - to live in harmony with the Earth and to inspire a healthy future for all species.
Over the past several years, New Pioneers has been growing. We've expanded our staff to include a full-time Community Educator and Outreach Coordinator. We've grown our program offerings to include an annual summer camp and several adult workshops. We're leaning into connection, education, and leadership.
In order to align this growth with the heart of our work, New Pioneers updated our mission statement this summer. Our new mission and vision statement are as follows:
New Pioneers activates Central Kentucky communities to achieve healthy soil, water, and air.
Our vision is one in which our communities are thriving, interconnected webs supporting the health of all species.
