New Pioneers had the exciting opportunity to visit a local school, G.C. Burkhead Elementary, for a day of Space fun this September! Our community educator spent the day guiding 4th-grade students through the wonders of space with "space stations" about our planets, the moon, space objects, and constellations. Students had a great time becoming astronauts for the day through fun activities like creating their own constellation origin story and acting out the moon phases.
Visiting schools to provide environmental education is one of many ways that New Pioneers works to carry out our mission of ensuring a healthy future for all! The first step in creating a society that prioritizes sustainability is to establish strong connections and an understanding of our natural environment, which is what we strive to achieve through these programs.
