Outdoor Class at Lebanon Elementary!

New Pioneers was delighted to spend the morning with Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade students at Lebanon Elementary School this May. At this fun-filled visit, students explored local plant life, life cycles, and seed dispersal methods for our day of "Flower Power!"

New Pioneers took the classroom outside for this unique opportunity, allowing students to engage in interactive stations about flora in our area! First, students took a nature walk to complete their "Plant Scavenger Hunt." Then, they participated in exhilarating dances to mimic common seed dispersal methods. Finally, students read and acted out "Moving Words About a Flower" by K.C. Hayes and modeled the dandelion life cycle.

We are truly grateful for this opportunity to educate our local youth about the wonders of nature, establishing strong relationships with the environment! Connecting with nature has many positive benefits for all, including improved mental and physical health, improved attention rates, and fewer behavioral issues. Plus, prioritizing a connection with the environment at a young age can create a generation of citizens who prioritize our planet!

Thanks to our generous partners!
