New Pioneers was thrilled to join the ranks of the Kentucky Nonprofit Network and other nonprofit organizations statewide during the 2024 Nonprofit Day at the Kentucky State Capitol on Wednesday, February 7.

Board Member, Michael Bickett, and Executive Director, Julia Gerwe, hit the road for Frankfort on Wednesday to participate in this historic advocacy day hosted by the Kentucky Nonprofit Network.

While there, Julia and Michael advocated for solutions to support nonprofits statewide and addressed pressing conservation and sustainability issues in meetings with local legislators including Senator Jimmy Higdon , Rep. Candy Massaroni, and Rep. Michael "Sarge" Pollock. The New Pioneers team also attended a press conference about strengthening support for nonprofits in Kentucky and celebrated KNN’s annual advocate award recipients.

We thank the Kentucky Nonprofit Network for hosting such an impactful day, and the Kentucky Conservation Committee for strengthening our knowledge about pressing and relevant environmental concerns. Alongside our members and communities, we'll continue working toward a healthy future for all!
