What a season of growth for New Pioneers! This spring, we’re excited to announce the hiring of our long-awaited Community Educator, Ivoree Sullenbarger. Ivoree’s role will include developing our environmental education programs and facilitating community engagement and programs into the future.

Ivoree is from Cecilia, Kentucky, near Elizabethtown, and brings a rich background in community service and sustainability studies. Graduating from Western Kentucky University in 2023 with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Sustainability, and Geographic Studies; Ivoree is eager to connect with our local communities and to be a part of the region’s progression of sustainability.

Ivoree shares that she is “most enthusiastic about partnering with community members and educating all generations for a more eco-friendly future”.

Ivoree started with New Pioneers right before the Springfield Green Festival, and has jumped into program preparation, planning, and review with great creativity and enthusiasm. We’re thrilled to welcome her aboard our staff team, and we know that our work to educate, demonstrate, and advocate will only continue to soar with her contributions.
