As a non-profit organization, members are the backbone of supporting New Pioneers' mission of educating, demonstrating, and advocating for a more sustainable future. To celebrate the community and contributions that our wonderful members bring, New Pioneers likes to spotlight individual members and their commitment to a healthy future. This November, give it up for Pat H.!!! Pat has been involved with our organization for over ten years, with her favorite event being our annual Empty Bowl Supper.
Pat and her husband, Tommy, have been wonderful stewards of sustainability, as shown through their family farm which has 80 solar panels and is in a land conservancy to protect it from development. Pat shares, "The importance of sustainability in our rural communities was at the heart of all those who went before. It remains a central part of our purpose at The Meadows. New Pioneers does such a great job of promoting all we believe in for a healthy future for all." Pat also recently started driving an electric vehicle, and she says she loves to pass a gas station now!
