On Sunday, January 21, 2024, New Pioneers was represented by Executive Director, Julia Gerwe, at this year’s Kentucky Conservation Committee Legislative Summit in Frankfort.

This year’s Summit focused on exploring state budget realities and opportunities, proposed bills in this legislative session, and partner agencies and organizations inspiring important conservation progress throughout Kentucky.

New Pioneers has long partnered with the Kentucky Conservation Committee to stay up-to-date on crucial conservation issues and legislation, and attending this year’s Summit was an opportunity to strengthen relationships and to position New Pioneers as a leader in local, sustainability advocacy in central Kentucky.
