New Pioneers' Community Educator, Ivoree, is taking part in the Leadership Nelson County Program with the class of 2026! This program helps participants build lifelong professional connections, complete community projects with a lasting legacy, and offers a "behind-the-scenes" look at the businesses and government agencies that make our county run.
This program started with a welcome dinner in February and an overnight retreat this March to get to know one another and more about the program. The retreat took place at Mammoth Cave National Park, and was an absolute blast for the class!

Day one of the Leadership Nelson Retreat consisted of a variety of team building activites, including a paper snowball fight, group challenges, a mindfulness hike, and a group dinner. Day two offered immersive experiences at the Adventures of Mammoth Cave. This included zip-lining, an aerial obstacle course, and a tower jump!
These experiences helped the class of 2026 build connections, foster trust, and become a strong team for the exciting year ahead!
Thank you to the Leadership Nelson class of 2025 and the board members of this program for making this retreat possible and full of fun! Ivoree looks forward to the next two years of connecting with the community and building relationships through this program.
