New Pioneers Community Educator, Ivoree, is taking part in the Leadership Nelson County Class of 2026! This unique opportunity brings current and emerging leaders together to address challenges in our community through commitment and responsibility. This April was "Government Day" for the class, and included an exciting lineup of local experiences.

The class started the day at the Nelson County Circuit Clerk to meet local judges and attorneys, learn about their roles, and complete a mock court trial! Then, the class walked over to the Nelson County Sheriff's Office and the Bardstown Police Department.

The Leadership crew ended the day visiting the Nelson County Coroner's Office and the Kentucky Career Center, learning about the essential roles both of these play in our community.

"Government Day" offered many experiences to meet local leaders, learn more about the community, and develop more leadership skills!
