New Pioneers' fifteenth annual Springfield Green Festival was a fantastic event this June and a great opportunity for New Pioneers to educate local communities about environmental issues and build local connections. The Green Festival is always such a fun and unique way for New Pioneers members and supporters to gather and raise awareness - and this year's event witnessed many new and familiar faces gathered to recognize "where local sustainability take root"!

This year’s Green Festival was our fifteenth anniversary of the event and we celebrated by elevating the work of diverse local vendors, organizations, and entertainers all working to inspire environmental activism and knowledge. The festival offered test drives and education of Electric Vehicles with Evolve KY, fresh beef from The Loretto Motherhouse Farm, solar panel information and resources from Solarize Boyle, free massages from Massage Therapy of Springfield, and so much more! 

New Pioneers would like to give thanks to all who helped make this event a success, including our sponsors, staff, Board of Directors, vendors, and volunteers. We are also very grateful for the Judicial Center for providing our space, the continued support of the City of Springfield, and for our collaboration with the Springfield Farmers Market on the morning of our event. We also owe thanks to those who donated raffle prizes for attendees, including our President of the Board of Directors, Jackie Roberts, who donated a basket of “green goodies”, as well as Go Sun for their donation of a Solar Oven! 

We are so grateful that this event was a success and was able to expand community awareness of environmental issues and sustainable solutions! We are already looking forward to next year’s 16th annual Green Festival and all the other great events and outreach opportunities we will have in the future! Cheers to continuing the build a sustainable future by your side.
