2026 Green Festival!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 25th, from 10 am - 3 pm on Cross Main Street in downtown Springfield, KY, for New Pioneers' annual Green Festival! This year marks the 17th anniversary of celebrating sustainability and our local community at this one-of-a-kind event.

  • Pick out a pet rock and learn about the A Cleaner Kentucky Movement
  • Learn about beekeeping and local pollinators with the KY Department of Agriculture
  • Learn about habitat management from the KY Division of Forestry
  • Pick out a FREE tree from the Washington County Conservation District
  • Meet and learn from 15+ other environmental exhibitors
• Family-Friendly Entertainment 
  • Kids Play Area, brought to you by the Woodland Wonders Forest School & Mama Duck's Childcare
  • Songs about nature with Mr. Dan from Bernheim Forest (11:00 am - noon)
  • View and learn about opossums, snakes, birds, and more with the Enchanted Forest Wildlife Rescue of KY
  • Meet and learn about raptors with the Broadbent Wildlife Sanctuary

Photo Contest

New Pioneers is excited to bring back the beloved Nature Photo Contest to Green Festival this year! We're now accepting photography and artwork submissions of the natural world from all ages and skill levels. Learn more here.

Submissions are due by Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026. Winners will be announced at Green Festival on Saturday, April 25th.

Volunteers

Are you interested in supporting Green Festival? We're seeking volunteers before, during, and after the event to ensure its success!

Exhibitors and Vendors

We are excited to once again invite environmental exhibitors, food vendors, and entertainment to participate in this festival - with a NEW addition! We are eager to also invite “sustainable vendors” to sell handmade, home-crafted, and/or locally sourced goods at our 2026 date.
